双眼鏡を買ったよ

バードウォッチャーの必携アイテム、双眼鏡を手に入れました！ 鳥好きベテランの友にアドバイスをもらいながらネットでいろいろ見てお店に行って試してまたネットで見て候補を絞り、最終的にはREIというアウトドアのお店で見つけました。8 x 32 でアイレリーフは 18 mm なので眼鏡をかけたままでも安心。
探していた条件をすべて満たしたスペックで予算よりもだいぶお安い！眼鏡かけたまま使える軽いのが欲しくて、お店で試したら視界も広いし明るいし、もうばっちり。期待をはるかに上回るものに出会えてほくほくです。週末は公園に鳥を見に行くぞー。
購入後に気づいたんだけど、REIのサイトの Binoculars: How to Choose がよくまとまっていてべんり。
How to Choose シリーズは双眼鏡以外のいろんなアウトドア活動の道具のがあって、どういう種類があって、どれは何に向いていて、チェックすべきポイントはこれこれで、各用語の説明があって、ビギナーにはとてもよい！
お手入れ方法やお出かけ時のチェックリストなんかもある。テントの選び方は読んどこー。あと、Wildlife Encounters もだいじ。

I got a good pair of binoculars which I had been wanting for bird watching! What I was looking for was: - 8x of magnification and lens diameters within the range of 20-30 mm - at least 16 mm of eye relief (good for eyeglass wearer) - lighter than 500 grams - less than $200
I looked into them on the internet, went to three shops to see how it looked like, and finally found this one at REI. This is more than I expected. I can’t wait to practice my birding skill this weekend.
